Kam Dixon got his 2025 season off to a strong start at the Bennetts BSB R&G Official Test at Donington Park, finding pace and rhythm across two days of running on the iconic GP layout.
Taking place on the 2.4873-mile Donington Park Grand Prix circuit, the test held extra meaning for Kam. It was here, during the penultimate round of the 2024 season, that his campaign ended early following a crash at the Esses. Returning to the track just a few months on, Kam looked right at home and wasted no time getting back into the swing of things.
Friday 18th April saw unpredictable weather conditions with rain constantly threatening, but Kam steadily built confidence and posted competitive lap times throughout the day.
Session 1: P2 in session, best time of 1:32.198 from 13 laps
Session 2: P1 in session, best time of 1:32.704 from 6 laps
Session 3: P2 in session, best time of 1:32.498 from 7 laps
He ended the day P3 in class overall, setting a solid foundation heading into day two.
Saturday 19th April saw more changeable weather but a big jump forward in performance.
Session 1: P2 in session, best lap of 1:31.768 from 10 laps
Session 2: P1 in session, best lap of 1:30.705 from 12 laps
Session 3: P1 in session, best lap of 1:29.860 from 9 laps
Kam finished P1 in class on the combined classification for his sessions on Saturday, capping off a hugely encouraging test.
“Really happy with how this test went,” Kam said. “The bike feels good, and I’m starting to get back into a rhythm now. It was great to shake off some of the winter rust and put in some solid laps. Looking forward to getting back on the bike again soon.”
Next up is the Bennetts BSB R&G Official Test at Oulton Park on 23rd–24th April, before the season officially kicks off at the same circuit over 3rd–5th May.
